Clean Coimbatore project at Chinnimapalayam

Siruthuli, RAAC and Radio city have taken a step forward in SWACHH BHARAT movement. Bharathi Park, Chinniampalayam Panchayat and the locality near Periakulam bund, where people lack basic sanitations are spotlighted in the camping to make change. As the first step on Sunday 16th November 2014, the team members from Siruthuli, RAAC, RADIOCITY,MC3 and volunteers from the residential area around joined the cleaning activity at Chinniampalayam Panchayat.

Volunteering is a way to give back to the community when there is a need not only to help others, but to help ourselves too. The cleaning project at Chinniampalayam Panchayat has made a vast difference in no time on the streets. The awareness has spread across like wild fire. Thanks to Radio City 91.1 and the number of volunteers who came forward to clean the place, which has been on the rise every week. Wherever garbage was dumped, the place was cleaned and pictures of Gods were placed, so that people refrain from dumping the garbage at these spots. It was absolutely amazing to see volunteers involved in cleaning their streets and one of our most commendable volunteer, 100 year old Unnathal patti wielded a broom stick even before the volunteers stepped in to do their bit. This only proves that Swacch Bharat will be a reality sooner than we expect. Saplings of both fruit bearing and shadow giving varieties were planted in the area.
