On Day 1 of the camp, as in the previous years, the team assembled near Pachai Nayagi, to receive the blessings of Mother Nature. Students, teachers, parents and volunteers were welcomed by Siruthuli Managing Trustee Ms Vanitha Mohan. She told ‘the precious 100 that are hand-picked by Mother Nature’ that they will be given exposure to learn, to revere and to enjoy in the laps of Mother Nature. Mr Kanaklal Abhaichand, Siruthuli Trustee, appreciated the green hearts of the little campers. Camp Coordinator Ms Uma K Rao briefed them about the camp itinerary and told them that this camp is fashioned in such a way to imbibe environmental awareness/culture amongst the students community and it intends to create a cycle for nature conservation through children-parents-public.
Students were taken to Periakulam to know the importance of wet lands and conservation of Birds and other species in wet lands for ecological balance. Later the students arrived at Siruthuli , Noyyal Life Center for a presentation on the Shola forests of the Western Ghats & on Terrace Gardening. Students got a hands on experience on Terrace Gardeningas well.
