It was a day filled with energy and motivation at Siruthuli. Our team dedicated this day to a great cause-helping the younger generation realise the importance of nature and its gifts . “Sittukaludan Siruthuli”, a special program designed to reach out to the student community in to order patch the lost bond with Mother Nature and to provide the students with the information about conservation. The session has indeed stimulated hundreds of students during the last two years and is continuing to reach out to a more number of young children as much as possible. Presentations and hands on explanatory sessions by various members on the importance of protecting environment are part of the programme.

‘Sittukaludan Siruthuli’ would not have been possible without the support from educational institutions which is why it was decided to conduct a special program “Vidhai Mariyadhai” on 12thSeptember 2014 to express the love, honour and gratitude to all Principals, Teachers and the respective educational institutions who have gently allowed and encouraged children to participate and spend hours for the Sittukaludan Siruthuli program. “Vidhai Mariyadhai” was a dedication for the selfless service and the support being extended from all those educational institutions through all our activities.

A meeting was conducted for Principals and teachers to understand and experience the session “Sittukaludan Siruthuli” and motivate the gathering to take up environmental activities not only in their schools but also in their personal lives. The session started with a welcome speech thanking the entire team – which was the primary idea of the meeting by Ms Uma K Rao followed by a presentation about the activities and achievements of Siruthuli for more than a decade by Ms Geetha Sridhar. The session went on with an explanatory video session by our terrace garden expert Ms Chitra Krishnaswamy.

The Wealth out of Waste session by Ms Sujani Balu & Ms Sangeetha Subash also added excitement. They were inspired by every word spoken by Mr CGS Manion on trees. The session would not have achieved its objective without the talk by our Managing Trustee Ms Vanitha Mohan. The managing trustee with great respect expressed her gratitude for the long lasting support and requested continued relationship towards environmental conservation by taking up Siruthuli’s activities in their schools. The session was concluded with the feedback and suggestions from the respectable group. The interactive meeting enhanced the bond between the schools and Siruthuli.

We are certain that the noble people will keep inspiring their students every day and every minute. Needless to say, no one can refuse the fact that we have been inspired by atleast one of our teachers in our lifetime and with pride we claim that these eminent teachers have helped us lot more in being responsible citizens.
