About us
From ancient times, Coimbatore has been known for its exotic climate, copious rains and more importantly, river Noyyal, which is the lifeline of this city. Flowing from Western Ghats, ‘Noyyal’ had remained guardian angel of more than 20000 acres of agricultural land in this part. As years rolled by, the region has become a victim of gross water mismanagement and environmental abuse which led to climate variations and water shortage. During the year 2003, monsoon failure in Coimbatore took the situation from bad to worse. Social and ecological conscious industrialists of Coimbatore were quick to assess the situation and initiate remedial actions, the outcome of which was rolling out of “Siruthuli” (meaning “a small drop”), a noble initiative striving towards restoring the region to its original aqua and eco conditions. The founding stone to this movement was laid.
