Grow the Farmer
We can survive without technology, gadgets, or luxuries, but never without food. It’s time to Grow the Farmer. The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted a powerful truth: when everything else stopped, food remained our most essential need. Yet, while people were desperate for food, farmers across the country struggled to sell their produce. This moment inspired Siruthuli to create its fifth pillar - Grow the Farmer, an initiative dedicated to empowering the hands that feed us.
Grow the Farmer focuses on uplifting farmers through:
Knowledge sharing and training on sustainable practices such as Zero Budget Farming (ZBF).
Efficient sourcing of inputs and crop planning.
Fair pricing, better storage, and improved logistics.
Watershed management projects like Mathuvarayapuram Watershed Development, which enhance soil and water conservation for long-term agricultural resilience.
From knowledge sharing to organising large-scale training programmes on ZBF practices led by Shri Subhash Palekar, this initiative continues to nurture a self-reliant and environmentally responsible farming community.
Through Grow the Farmer, Siruthuli reaffirms its belief that nurturing the farmer is the first step toward nurturing the Earth.
