Chairman of Bannari Amman Group of Companies. He is an industrialist, agriculturist, educationalist, social worker and philanthropist , a Chartered Accountant cum company secretary professional.  He is also the Chairman of the Bannari Amman Foundation which has worked on several initiatives in the region such as water conservation, afforestation, sanitation and health and provided training for farmers. The foundation also works on rainwater harvesting and water augmenting techniques. He has served as President of the Indian Sugar Mills Association twice, President South Indian Sugar Mills Association (Tamilnadu) thrice & President of South Indian Sugar Mills Association (Karnataka). He has been honoured with the Seva Rathnakara Award from Sri Adichunhangiri Mahasamsthana Math, Karnataka; Baktha Siromani Award from Sankaracharya of Kanchi Math; and TNF Excellence Award from Tamil Nadu Foundation, USA
