Bharathiar University

In collaboration with Bharathiar University and ZF Wind Power Coimbatore Pvt. Ltd., Siruthuli envisioned a powerful act of collective action: planting 10,000 saplings in just three minutes. On 25 July 2019, this vision became reality at the Bharathiar University campus. Over 5,000 volunteers, drawn from colleges and organisations across the city, came together with infectious enthusiasm, each planting two saplings in what came to be known as a “Rapid Fire Tree Planting” event. What followed was even more meaningful. The students of Bharathiar University embraced the responsibility of nurturing the saplings. In a short span of time, the plantation grew into a thriving green corridor, now alive with the presence of the four Bs: birds, butterflies, bees, and beetles. Today, students find shade, calm, and connection under these trees, taking pride in caring for a forest they helped create. BU Siruthuli stands as a living reminder that when awareness turns into ownership, lasting green legacies are born.
